We asked what you thought about John McCain's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.
John McCain gave a wonderful speech that was substantive and convinced me that he is the best person to lead our nation. I am pleased with his running mate and they definitely have my vote. -- Christiane, Tierrasanta
Both McCain and Palin's speeches were filled with platitudes without substance. What specifically will they do about the economy, education, jobs, and the war in Iraq? -- Jessica, North Park
McCain strategically redirected the climate of the Obama attacks that charaterized last night's convention speeches. Frankly, this was an insightful decision, since it was beginning to seem that the Republicans were taking the low road to the White House. However, his speech was abstract and inundated with cliches. He would have enhanced his credibility if only he was specific about his economic plans in light of our nation's financial crisis and addressed critical issues regarding health care, etc. All in all, his address was not of presidential quality. -- Wendy, Mira Mesa
Senator McCain was impressive tonight. He has a genuine record of bi-partisan reform and heroic service. His wisdom and experience are what America needs...not grand rhetoric. -- Mike, Rancho Bernardo
