We asked what you thought of the first presidential debate between Obama and McCain.
I was impressed by John McCain and his concern about reigning in the excess spending of Congress. I was very concerned by Senator Obama stating that he would continue to push for raising taxes on business in this economic climate when the country needs to have new jobs. -- Richard, Escondido
I believe Obama truly stand-out. Obama mention education, unlike McCain who has seem to have forgotten about it. McCain kept mentioning his experience as if it were the only thing he can offer voters and never looked up at Obama when being addressed by him. Obama demonstrated his readiness to become president and start the change he has mention throughout his campaign. -- Rosa, San Diego
I am so sick of all you left wing media outlets. I am referring to your coverage of the debates tonight on the 10 O'Clock news. If you really want to suck Obamas ____ this much, please do so. But, leave your desire to hope that Obama gets elected to your vote, and please report just the news. You are so slanted that I will NEVER WATCH YOUR NEWS EVER AGAIN. Happy? I hope so. And if you think that all young people are for Obama, you are wrong. I am 19, and I can't stand Obama. Oh yeah, and...Only 3 walked in supporting McCain, while the rest supported Obama...F___ YOU. Slanted news. You suck! -- Kenneth, Mira Mesa
Obama didn't say he was going to pull all our troops out of Iraq. He was going to concentrate troops levels in Afghanistan. We sould still have troops in Iraq. -- David, Normal Heights
my heart says obama, my brain says mccain. -- William, North Park
I thought that Senator Obama was the only one of the two candidates that was actually addressing issues. Senator McCain was regurgitating what he and his party have been doing for the entire campaign. McCain was rude and interrupted Senator Obama several times not allowing him to defend himself of his points. McCain was reducing his tactic to name calling and flat out lies. Senator Obama is the only hope this country has of returning to its former glory. He actually sees, hears, and understands the prob! lems with this country and he conducted himself in a professional manner which was becoming of a future president. McCain acted as he and his party always does as nothing but a glorified bully. I would think that with all the experience that McCain boasts about he would have had the experience to choose a proper running mate. As far as I am concerned that was just a glimpse of what we can expect from Senator McCain if elected. May God help us all! I think that a candidate that supports the war in Iraq has no right to comment on what is going on in Georgia and Russia. We did the same exact thing 8 years ago and we're still doing it. McCain is a liar and a hypocrite. How can we trust him? How can anyone support him? Obama stand for change and hope something this country needs dearly. "From every mountain top, let freedom ring!" -- Carol, Kensington
Senator McCain is clearly the more experienced and knowledgeable candidate for President of the United States. His character - as a POW and as a man of principal - came through in all he said. The USA is safe with McCain and at risk with Obama! -- Michael, Downtown
