Man Sentenced in K-9 Death

We asked your thoughts on the sentencing of the man who jumped off the Coronado Bridge, killing a police dog.

In regards to Cory Byron. We were on the bridge that night in our RV returning from a holiday trip to Texas. We (7 of us all together)sat on that bridge for at least an hour. It was frightening for us not knowing what was going on. He (Cory)faces three years? That's it? The officer who lost his companion and partner forever. Remembering Styker's death as an ending to our holiday vacation saddens me. A memory we are likely not to forget. -- Lisa

I believe that his sentence was good for his crime. He deserved what he got. Killing a police dog was a horrible thing to do. I wish that what he said in court today is the truth and he realizes what true miracle happened to him. I feel for the animal who ended its life protecting his partner. -- Ryan

Why was the dog released on the man anyways? it seems like excessive force. -- Rick

i think the person who jumped off the bridge with the police dog should go to jail for a very long time he was being selfish the dog was helpless and he had to take him down with him he should have died not the dog. -- Jessica
