JEWLICIOUS FESTIVAL 3.0, the largest youth festival of contemporary Jewish culture and identity will be held in Long Beach, CA March 9th-11th, 2007 at the Alpert Jewish Community Center bringing hundreds of students and young professionals together for 60 hours of music, food, fun, education and spirituality.
Current music line-up includes Eastern European folk-punk band GOLEM, lower east-side folk-rocker RAV SHMUEL playing with dance-pop fusion band THE BLOODSUGARS, Israeli indie band MISSFLAG and the unique sound of SOULICO CREW from Tel Aviv, the heavy metal band THE MAKKABEES, Jewish indie mashup band SHANKBONE and DJ ERIC ROSEN & TWELVE TRIBES LIVE PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE.
Presenters, speakers and educators will tackle major themes and topics in regards to Israel and spirituality; Darfur, Social Action, Third World Service, Jewish Media with a focus on the roles Jews play in Hollywood's "industry" and on the emergence of young Jewish publications.
Accommodations are on-site at the Alpert JCC and at nearby hotels being one of the largest sleepovers that isn't sleep-away camp. Tickets are still available for the the two-day concert: $15 for general public and $10 for students.
