The National Cat Protection Society (NATCAT), a nonprofit, no-kill cat shelter, is turning 41! To help us celebrate the many years we have spent protecting cats and kittens, finding them loving homes, maintaining a Retirement Home and providing humane education, join us for our annual Open House and Fundraiser at our Spring Valley shelter on June 7th from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

During the event, we will publicly introduce NATCAT Paradise – our brand-new, tropic-themed Retirement Home redesigned by noted co-creators of the feline fantasyland The Cats’ House in San Diego, Frances Mooney and Bob Walker, who also authored the books “The Cats’ House” and “Cats into Everything.” Revamped to provide an enriched environment for senior cats, Paradise will ultimately feature islands for lounging or sleeping, a volcano with pressure-controlled heating pads on the lava area, “love boats” containing litterboxes tied to a slip in “Retirement Bay” and a ceiling painted and covered with wave-simulating plastic sheets.  

As always, we will also be celebrating NATCAT’s compassionate supporters, members, staff and volunteers while featuring door prizes, a silent auction, raffle prizes and refreshments. With many cats and kittens eager to meet you, it is furr-sure to be a purr-fect retreat!

Staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions about our organization, kitten center and Paradise, and felines in general.
