When the going gets tough, the tough get giving! Such is the case for the San Diego area philanthropists, volunteers, corporations and independent business owners who have made outstanding contributions to the community, despite the economic downturn. The Association of Fundraising Professionals San Diego Chapter, along with presenting sponsor, The San Diego Foundation, will present honorees with these prestigious awards at the annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders is expected to attend the luncheon. Additionally, former San Diego TV anchor Carol LeBeau will serve as the emcee for this anticipated event.
Among the honorees are Ann Hill, Conrad Prebys, James (Jim) West, Robert Silva, Geni Cavitt, Charles E. Day, the Nice Guys of San Diego and the Jack in the Box Corporation.
